To amplify important ideas and contribute to a common world
Designed as a vibrant space for living, dialogue, and action, Résidence Tallard is passionately devoted to empowering individuals with groundbreaking ideas and profound social impact.
A Laboratory for Ideas and Encounters
Nestled within Hôtel Tallard, an 18th-century historic monument, Résidence Tallard was renovated by architect Lina Ghotmeh. Each year, the residency welcomes four to six leading thinkers, writers, researchers, and figures from around the world for stays lasting two to four weeks. Acting as a cultural bridge, Résidence Tallard fosters connections and exchange across disciplines, cultures, and worldviews. It gives these ideas visibility, sparks debate, and contributes to thinking through a common world.
The Team
Residence Tallard was conceived by the founders of KADIST, Sandra Terdjman and Vincent Worms. The program is directed by curator and cultural strategist Ella Marder, and carried out with the support of the KADIST team. Together, they make Residence Tallard a bespoke residency, using time, hospitality, and care as essential ingredients for conversation and collaboration.
Résidence Tallard is a program of KADIST, continuing its commitment to international dialogue and contemporary creation. The #KADISTSeenBy series is filmed inside Résidence Tallard: each episode features a leading thinker or creator reflecting on and responding to contemporary art works, offering new perspectives and interpretations.
Partners
Résidence Tallard was conceived as a residency embedded within Paris's cultural and intellectual ecosystem. Rather than creating a parallel program, it collaborates with leading cultural, academic, civic, and entrepreneurial institutions to connect each resident's work with existing conversations taking place across the city. Through co-curated events, public programmes, private salons, research visits, and institutional partnerships, the residency contributes to—and is enriched by—the vibrant cultural fabric of Paris and the Île-de-France region.
Since launching its inaugural season in 2024, Résidence Tallard has partnered with institutions including the Centre Pompidou–Musée national d'art moderne, Festival d'Automne, Grand Palais, Théâtre de la Ville, Philharmonie de Paris, MC93, mk2 Institut, mk2 Bibliothèque, VivaTech, ChangeNOW Summit, INSEAD, ESSEC Business School, the Conseil économique, social et environnemental (CESE), Le Parlement des Jeunes, Fondation Louis Roederer, American Library in Paris, and My Little Paris.
The apartment hosting these residencies is located in L’Hôtel de Tallard, a historic building designed by Pierre Bullet in 1702 on rue des Archives. It was renovated by the Franco-Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh, known for her projects that blend memory, sustainability, and innovation, such as the National Museum of Estonia, Stone Garden in Beirut, the 2023 Serpentine Pavilion, the Palais de Justice in Lille, and the Western Range at the British Museum.
